Midwest Trauma Services and Surgical Specialists is part of the HCA Midwest Physicians network in Kansas City. We are affiliated with Research Medical Center as well as the hospitals of HCA Midwest Health.
Midwest Trauma, a level 1 Trauma center, provides comprehensive services in the area of trauma, elective and high risk general surgical and critical care. We are a highly skilled team of 4 board certified surgeons, affiliated with Research Medical Center. Our experienced and highly-trained trauma surgeons are specialized in critical care and have expertise in trauma care. They are board certified in General Surgery.
We also provide elective general surgical services, with the expertise in open and laparoscopic abdominal surgery, hernia repair and breast surgery.

H Scott Bjerke, MD
Dr. Scott Bjerke is a fellowship-trained traumatologist. He obtained his medical degree from John A Burns School of Medicine, Honolulu and completed his residency at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston. He was a fellow at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and has served as medical director for both trauma services and trauma intensive care. Heather Klepacz, MD
Heather Klepacz, MD obtained her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and graduated cum laude in integrated life sciences at Kent State University. She completed her residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital (Columbus, Ohio) and specializes in general surgery. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Women Surgeons. More

Dr. Kris Rajanna obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Dr. F. Earl Scott is board-certified in surgery with an additional certification in surgical critical care. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
