The best way to detect ovarian cancer is through an annual pelvic exam and by recognizing the symptoms of the disease, says Dr. Maggie Smith, a board-certified Ob-Gyn with the Kansas City Women’s Clinic at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. In this interview she reminds KCTV5 viewers that a Pap test is effective in the early detection of cervical cancer, but it is not a screening method for ovarian cancer.
