Julie Wilhauk is a board-certified nurse practitioner with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. She is also board certified as an advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner. Julie holds both a master's degree and doctorate in her field, offering more than 20 years of nursing care experience. Since 2012, Julie has focused on providing cancer care through the medical oncology centers of HCA Midwest hospitals, and has served as the nursing team leader. In that role, she has helped implement quality and clinical improvements and provided patient and provider education in addition to her patient care. Julie is experienced at managing patients with both chronic and acute conditions and at performing procedures including biopsies and other diagnostics. Prior to joining HCA Midwest Health, she has worked in a blood and bone marrow transplant center, as a home health nurse, public health nurse and hospital floor nurse. Julie has been the recipient of honors such as the Advance Oncology Nurse Practitioner of the Year and the University of Kansas Early Achievement Alumni Award . She has served on numerous professional committees and has been an active researcher , author and presenter in her field. Julie is a member of American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplant (ASBMT), the Oncology Nurse Society and the Radiation Injury Treatment Network.
