Physician Assistant
Matthew Purtle is a physician assistant with Kansas City Joint Replacement at Menorah Medical Center. Prior to relocating home to the Kansas City area in 2017 he finished his 15-year career in the U.S. Army at Fort Stewart, GA. He is a 2001 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served for 8 years as an Army Aviator flying Apache Helicopters as an Army Officer after which he became an Army Physician Assistant via the military Interservice Physician Assistant Program through the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After completing his physician assistant studies in 2011, Matthew spent the last five years of his military service providing primary care to the Soldiers in his command. He also served as a Brigade Senior Physician Assistant, a leadership/supervisory role in which he managed a complete medical team responsible for care of more than 5,000 soldiers. After his departure from the military and prior to finding his home with Kansas City Joint Replacement he spent 12 months working in Orthopaedic Surgery in the Savannah, GA and Kansas City, KS area where he gained experience in orthopaedics including total joint replacement, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, and a wide array of orthopaedic trauma. He finds that he loves total knee and hip arthroplasty the most and enjoys taking part in changing people’s lives for the better in this practice.
