Midwife Jaime Thompson, CNM, APRN
Jaime Thompson, CNM, APRN, has joined Specialists in Women Care which is affiliated with Overland Park Regional Medical Center and part of Midwest Physicians. Thompson, a certified nurse midwife, has more than 10 years of experience serving the overall healthcare needs of women of all ages.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is part of HCA Midwest Health System, Kansas City’s largest healthcare network and private-sector employer. Midwest Physicians, a network of experienced, multi-specialty physicians located throughout the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, and is part of HCA Midwest Health System.
The staff at Specialists in Women’s Care is comprised of board-certified physicians who combined have more than 100 years of experience to meet the needs of women at every stage of life. The addition of Thompson and midwifery services is another option to meet women’s unique needs.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center offers the largest and most experienced network of midwifery care in the Kansas City area. It was the first hospital in the area to offer midwifery more than 20 years ago.
Thompson, a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, is known for delivering an exceptional level of evidence-based midwifery care to her patients, and for her partnership and collaboration with OB/GYNs, and other members of the healthcare team. Her special clinical interests include providing adolescent care, overall women's health and preventive care, and contraceptive management.
With a background in both private practice and in the hospital labor, delivery and nursery settings, Thompson is highly-skilled at helping women deliver their babies in low-risk pregnancy situations and with minimal intervention, as well as assisting in deliveries that require cesarean sections. Thompson received a bachelor's in nursing from Baker University and her master's in nursing from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Kentucky.
