Research Medical Center and Midwest Pain Management Associates welcome Karl J. Haake, MD, as a new member of their exemplary patient care team. With clinical interest and training in back pain and spine care, Dr. Haake is the only recipient of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recognition for quality in back pain care, in the states of Missouri and Kansas. Using 13 clinical measures and three structural standards, the award recognizes physicians and chiropractors who have demonstrated superior care for Americans who suffer from low back pain.

Dr. Haake has been involved in improving the delivery of back pain care throughout Missouri, helping to implement innovative, multi-disciplinary approaches through his affiliation with the Missouri Primary Care Association. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the International Anesthesia Research Society. He has also authored numerous presentations in the area of chronic pain.

An anesthesiologist who specializes in pain control and a pain management specialist, Dr. Haake received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Nebraska. He is certified by both the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine.
