Centerpoint Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center and Midwest Physicians, both part of HCA Midwest Health System, Kansas City’s largest healthcare network, are pleased to welcome Stanley M. Augustin, MD, FACS to the medical staff of Centerpoint Medical Center and Centerpoint Trauma and Surgical Services. Dr. Augustin is a board-certified general surgeon with added qualifications in surgical critical care.
For the last 10 years, Dr. Augustin has served as an associate professor within the surgery department at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine focusing on trauma /emergency surgery and surgical critical care. Now he has come to Centerpoint Medical Center to focus his practice on the development of the hospital’s trauma program as medical director. Dr. Augustin is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), and is active in the Missouri Chapter of the ACS. He is the immediate past president of the Kansas City Surgical Society and member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He received his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at the UMKC. Subsequently, Dr. Augustin completed his critical care fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis’s division of Trauma/Critical Care at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Augustin has published extensively on various aspects of surgery and has made numerous presentations on the field in both academic and professional settings.
